About Tim Visser – Specialist in Sailboat and Motorboat Expertise

Welcome to my website! My name is Tim Visser, and I specialize in yacht surveying for both sailboats and motorboats. From a young age, I have been passionate about everything related to boats and sailing. What started with dinghy sailing on lakes and ponds has grown into ocean sailing in some of the most beautiful places in the world.

From Sailing Instructor to Yacht Surveyor

At the age of fifteen, I began giving sailing lessons. Initially in dinghies and later as a sailing instructor with the Zeezeilers van Marken, where I conducted training sessions from the Baltic Sea to Brittany. This experience, combined with my studies in Mechanical Engineering (HTS) and Business Administration (HBO), forms the foundation of my current expertise as a yacht surveyor.

Passion for Sailing and Adventure

I share my love for sailing with my family. I am married to Carolien and a proud father of three children. In 2017 and 2018, we embarked on a wonderful sailing journey along Spain, Portugal, the Azores, Madeira, the Canary Islands, and Morocco. In 2021, we completed a six-month trip to France and the Azores, sailing back to Enkhuizen via Brittany and Normandy.

In November 2022, I undertook my long-awaited ocean crossing from Cape Verde to Recife, Brazil, which further enriched my experience in ocean sailing.

Experience with Various Yachts

Through my sailing adventures and work as a ship expert, I have gained extensive experience with various yachts, including Swan, Wauquiez, Elan, Dehler, Bavaria, and Jeanneau. Between 2012 and 2015, I oversaw the complete refit of a Swan 48, a project I partly carried out myself, which deepened my practical knowledge of yachts.
